:D Ibland vill man bara fylla ut luckor i berättelsen...

Very simple scrapbooking, indeed. I just wanted to fill up one of the gaps I've found in my scrapbook-story.

I just recently put all my layouts, that i have ever made, in my LOM-albums, and that helped me see new patterns in my story. Both what I do tell and what I don't. Christmasses might not be that important on their own, but I like the fact that you can put many of them in a long row and see how time has passed and life (and hair-dos) has changed.

Close to my heart! :)

I found this wonderful handmade necklace in an Etsy shop. It's Liz Lamoreux who makes them, and she will custom them as you wish. So now I carry my wish with me all the time.

Jag hittade det här vackra handgjorda halsbandet i en Etsyshop. Det är Liz Lamoreux som gör dem, och hon kan designa dem som man vill själv. Så nu bär jag alltid med mig min önskan.

One little word Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog! I'm so glad you're here, and that we can share our One little word-journeys with each other.

New years resolutions is nothing for me, it´s too much "made up" and it feels like a pressure and something I have to live up to, rather than a helpful tool. But this year I really wolud like to get my acts together as I'm about to leave the SAHM-phase of my life and find a new direction. So I need- a helpful tool.

I stumbled upon a class and a concept, at my trusted scrapbook class site Big Picture Classes. This was Ali Edwards idea of choosing a word as a kind of headline for a whole year, and use it to explore life and your own beeing. This was what I needed!

When I read about the class I started to think about which word I could choose. I thought it wouldn't be any use of signing up for the class if I didn't have a word to start with. But the word popped up almost immediately: I want to know my PATH. I'm looking for my own path through life.

The word that found me is in English. I'm not! But i decided to stick to the English word and to use the translations to Swedish too. I like to see the differences between the words and to use them to further explore my word and it's meanings. Some things are lost in translation, but some are gained!

The Swedish word for PATH is STIG which means more like foot-path or trail, a much smaller track than I would like to see before me through life, haha, but still quite an intriguing thought to ponder. Another swedish word that I could use is VÄG, but that is a very "broad" word that can mean anything from lane to street- or the road itself.

Now I have lived with this word for a month, and so far it has ment that I have reduced my involvement in my church, I have taken a one day class in writing (which is what I really want to do) and I have taken up reading the Bible again after several years (!). The last one is the hardest actually, it's hard to commit to doing something every day, and it's also the most surprising to me. I'm curious to see where it will lead me. On which path?

The first assignment in the Ali Edwards class was to invite and define our word of choise. This is what my invitation page looks like:

The translations of the cards from top left: synonyms to the word VÄG (way), old encyclopedia definition of VÄG, translations of PATH to swedish, reasons why I choose this word, synonyms to PATH, two quotes: "those who get lost find new paths", "the way become (?) as you walk", the word PATH, two scriptures: act 17:28 and john 14:6, my invitation to clarity, strength, enthusiasm and movement.

I have never done this kind of divided layout before, but i really like the style! I have alreadey started another layout of the same kind, with pictures and small snippets from the summer of 2009. I will show it later. :)

And today it's time for the second assignment from the class! I can't wait!

Mystiska böcker

De stora barnen fick varsin mystisk bok i julklapp. Vi har haft både mycket magi och mycket forntid på gång här hemma, och jag ville kombinera det i en egen bok. Utsidan är klädd med en skinnbit från en gammal väst som jag köpte på second hand. Spännet som syns på bilden, satt redan där i ryggen på västen.

My eldest children got a mystical book each for Christmas. We have had a lot of magic and a lot of middelage going on at home, and I wanted to combine that in a book. The cover is a piece of leather from an old vest that i bought in a secondhand shop.

Inuti finns diverse mystiska föremål- scraptillbehör går att använda till så mycket! :) Eftersom de tar lite plats på höjden har jag bundit bokens papper i en hård pärm som jag limmade in i skinnomslaget. Papprena sitter i pärmryggens bakre halva, den främre blir som en låda där alla hängande saker ryms.

Inside there is a collection of mysterious things- scrapbooking products can be used for a lot of things! As they are a bit bulky I stitched the paper of the book in a hard cover that i glued into the leather cover. The papers is in the latter half of the hard cover and the rest of the cover acts as a box where the hanging things contains.

I själva boken finns plats för viktiga anteckningar.

När barnen öppnade sina paket berättade jag att de här böckerna hade varit väldigt roliga att göra. Edvin tittade vänligt på mig och sa: "Ja, de kanske var ännu roligare att göra än att leka med!" Och så var det nog, höll jag med om. Hoppas att de minns det!

In the book there is room for important notes.
When the kids opened their presents I told them that those books was so fun to make. Edvin looked at me, friendly, and said: "Yes, they might even have been more fun to make than to play with!" And I agreed. I hope they will remember that, and not feel "obliged" to have fun with or use the books for my sake!

Detaljer

Pepparkaksformar och vår variant av spökande stugan (eller Kråkboet, som en uppföljning av Harry Potter-festivalen vi har haft här).

Cookie-cutters, and our version of haunted house (or maybe the Burrows, as a follow-up on the Harry Potter festival that we have had here :).

Utsikter

Vintervädret är helt underbart. Vi har inte fått så stora mängder snö, bara så att det fortsätter att vara vitt. Nu är det inte ens så bittert kallt som det har varit, bara kring 10 minusgrader. Jag njuter, för jag räknar med att det snart kommer att töa och slaska.

The winter is wonderful. We haven't got very much snow here, just so that it remains white. Now it's not even as betterly cold as it used to be, only minus 10 degrees. I enjoy it fully, as I count on warmer weather soon.
