15 år

Förra sommaren firade vi 15-årig bröllopsdag. Det var verkligen ett ganska lågmält firande =) men vi bad i alla fall mellansonen att ta några kort på oss. De flesta blev suddiga, skakiga (mycket beroende på att hans syskon skuttade runt honom...) och väldigt autentiska. Så här ser vårt liv ut just nu!
Ömsom kraftpapper och ömsom skira spetsar, kan man säga, och en liten aning glitter sprejat över alltihop.

Last summer we had our 15th anniversary. It was a very quiet celebration, really, but we asked our middle son to take our picture. Most of them were blurry (thanks to his siblings dancing around him) and they were also very authentic! This is our life, right now!
It's both kraft paper and delicate laces, so to speak. And also a pint of glitter spritzed over it all!

Journaling goes:
15 years ago, when we took the step and said yes to each other, for the rest of our lives, we had already shed off the romanticism. What was left was a rock solid: this is going to be so fun!
On the 15th anniversary we have been through quite a lot, been discussing one thing and another, solved a few questions. And what is clear, above everything else is that: it is so fun! to share this life.

Biblioteket

Ett försök till att scrappa många bilder i samma layout, vilket jag tycker är svårt! Jag gjorde en vänstersida med ett foto och mer dekorationer och en högersida med resten av fotona. Tyvärr blev det lite för mycket text på vänstersidan; jag skriver nästan alltid för hand av bl.a. ren lathet, och då tar texten ibland för mycket plats. Temat är våra utflykter till biblioteket, som vi har hållit på med i några år och som har en egen ritual med fika och högar av böcker.

Geek

My husband loves electronic devises, and calls himself a geek. When I wanted to take his picture, this is how he posed (at first), as he knows that I think that he looks to much at his smart phone... I haven't wrote anything yet, and I'm not sure that all I want to say will fit in on those small papers! =)

Magiskt

My eldest son were going to a costume party at school, and all family helped him to put the costume together. He was so happy with it, and he also won a chocolate bar for "best costume". A completely magical evening! :)

Virkning

I realise I love simple design! I want the photo to be focus of my LO and to really shine.

My daughter at 3, playing a super-hero from a childrens tv-show during our lunch. Short journaling about that I'm so happy to stay at home with her- and having lunch with her every day.

Drömmer

My middle child at age 2, sitting with the cat by his side looking at the view from our garden. I loved seeing him like this, contemplating when he was so young! :)

Omtanke

I like washitape! It gives me directions how to place the rest of the things.

This is about a summerevening 7 yrs ago. I was SO tired, but starting to "recover" from sleepless nights with babies, as my youngest turned 2. When I put skin cream on my hands the kids came and wanted to "help" and suddenly I sat on the floor and they caressed my face- and hair and part of my cardigan =)- with skin cream. I remember that I was a little surprised then, that I never before had thought what I thought then: they care about me.

En evighetsmaskin

En serie bilder från en fikapaus under en lång bilresa.

Texterna är citat om rymd-tid, Heisenbergs osäkerhetsprincip (man kan inte bestämma både hastighet och läge för en elektron, samtidigt), och en beskrivning av en exciterad elektron (om den tillförs extra energi hoppar den upp till nästa nivå), samt en suck från mig...

Jag har försökt att illustrera banorna för de mest fritt flygande partiklarna i familjen, de som inte återfanns på samma plats på någon av bilderna...

Friendship

Det här är en layout skapad efter en utmaning på BPC under National Scrapbooking Day, som var den 7 maj. Temat var "think out of the box"- populärt tema när man skapar...- och i det här fallet betydde det att tänka utanför bakgrundsarket när man scrappar. T.ex. genom att lägga en pappersremsa på tvären som sticker ut på båda sidor om kartongarket.

Så här blev min variant av det hela. Bilderna föreställer mina barn och deras närmaste vänkrets- i stort sett alla vännerna är med här- där alla känner varandra. Det är så tryggt och så roligt att mina barn finns med i ett sammanhang. Eftersom många av barnen inte hör till min familj så är en stor del av layouten vit!

Rutorna är ihophäftade med häftklamrar, men de sitter också på ett kartongark som jag har skurit ut i rätt form, det skulle bli för vingligt annars. Alltihop ryms inom 12x12 tum, och går ned i en plastficka, så helt utanför den lilla lådan är det ju inte.

Påsk

På den här LOn har jag försökt att lösa två saker som jag har funderat på ett tag.

Det ena är att jag har svårt att få en LO snygg med många foton på. Enkelfoto-LOs är lättast för mig, men ibland vill man ju ha med många bilder ändå! Därför har jag gjort en dubbel-LO där vänstersidan är lite mer pyntad och där fokus ligger på det bästa fotot av dem jag vill använda, och högersidan är mer en samling av resten av fotografierna. Det kändes som en enkel och bra lösning, och jag kommer att använda det sättet fler gånger.

Det andra "problemet" är hur man scrappar återkommande händelser som årshögtider av olika slag. Texten blir lätt en lista på de saker man gjorde den dagen, och det kan vara ganska ointressant. Särskilt om man gjorde ungefär samma saker året innan! Så på den här LOn kommer alla foton från samma tillfälle- påskafton 2010- men texten handlar om hur vi bygger upp våra gemensamma traditioner i vår familj, och att äggfärgning har blivit en tradition nästan utan att vi märkte det.


Another attempt to tackle the "lots of photos"-problem. I made one singlephoto-LO and one with just a lot of photos. This is from last easter, but I journal about building traditions in our family (like egg-coloring).

Lucia

Jag försöker på fler sätt att få in många foton i samma sammanhang: här har jag gjort en mindre layout som ett bihang till den stora. De berättar delvis olika historier, den lilla LOn är bara en redovisning av förskoleklassens luciatåg när Isak gick där, och den stora handlar om att Isak var lucia då, och att jag tyckte att det var väldigt roligt att han var det.

Jag har letat ett tag efter plastfickor i 6x12 med tre fotofickor i, just för att enkelt kunna göra såna här bildsamlingar. Men jag har ganska många vanliga 6x12-fickor, och vad 17, jag är ju scrappare! Jag kan klistra fast kort.

Här nedan syns den lilla layouten, som är tvåsidig, ihop med den stora.

Many photos from the same occasion: here I made a smaller layout to accompany the larger one. They tell different stories about the same evening. The small LO is just a report about the parade Isak's class had in kindergarten, and the big one tells the story of him having a traditionally female part in the parade, and that I very much liked that.

I've been looking for a while for 6x12 page protectors for three photos, but I have quite a lot of ordinary 6x12 protectors, and really: I'm a scrapbooker. I can adhere photos.

Eldplatsen

Jag har länge tänkt att göra en sida om vår eldplats uppe i skogen. Vi går ofta dit, och tar gärna med oss vänner dit också, till en riktigt informell middag! :) Bilderna är från 2005-2010. Min första tanke var att det oranga pappret skulle sitta som en eld i mitten av layouten, men det blev helt omöjligt att placera fotona då, så nu är den översta sidan vänstersida och nästa är högersida i dubbellayouten.

About the fireplace in our little wood, where we take many of our friends in summer time. Photos from 2005-2010. My first thought was to put the orange paper in the middle, like a fire, but that made it completely impossible to place the photos, so now the upper page is the left page and the lower one is the right one in the double-LO.

Stockholm 2010

En endagsresa till Stockholm som jag och Isak gjorde strax innan han fyllde åtta. Vi gick på teater och shoppade, faktiskt- på Butterix!
I höstas scrappade vi en 12"-sida om det här tillsammans och i förra veckan lade vi till två 6x12-sidor som en öppningsflik framför den stora sidan.

Det är så kul att blanda storlekar så här! Och det var en riktig aha-upplevelse att komma på att det är helt OK att göra så :P
Jag gillar att kunna se lite av större layouter kika fram bakom mindre, och känslan man får av att "det här är en bunt liv som jag har samlat ihop", snarare än "detta är en fullständig krönika över vår gemensamma tillvaro".

Ursäkta den dåliga fotokvaliteten, jag ville visa layouterna i albumet, och då var det svårt att fotografera i stället...

A one-day trip to Stockholm that Isak and I did, just before his 8th birthday. We went to the theater and did some shopping.
This fall we made a layout toghether about this, and last week we added two 6x12 that I put in front of the larger page.

It is so fun to mix sizes like this! It was a huge AHA-moment for me when I realized that I could mix sizes in the same album (duh!). I like the small peaks of the next LO, and I love the feeling of that "this is a bunch of life that I have collected" as opposed to the perfect recording of our common existence- that I will never be able to do anyway.

Sorry for the bad photos! I wanted to show the layouts in the album, but then photographing became harder...

Kombinerat

Det är olika varifrån idéerna kommer när man börjar med en layout. Ibland är det från foton, ibland från en historia man vill berätta och ibland är det faktiskt något scrapmaterial som inspirerar- t.ex. en plastficka!
Delade plastfickor har blivit på modet i scrapvärlden, och nu ville jag prova också. Många använder plastfickor för hockeybilder, men jag hann inte vänta på någon beställning, så jag sydde i en vanlig A4-ficka. Det var väldigt enkelt, för övrigt, och gör ju att man kan dela av plastfickan precis hur man vill själv.

Bilderna ovan visar mitt första egna försök till en delad layout. Eftersom det är ett så udda format fyllde jag baksidorna också med samma motiv, så det blev en dubbel-LO fast "rygg mot rygg". Lite knepigt. Om jag gör fler såna här layouter kan jag ju sätta in dem i albumen på ett snyggare sätt...

Fotona är blandade ögonblicksbilder från sommaren 2009, inte precis en komplett bild, men ändå en översikt.

Jag är fortfarande inte helt säker på om jag gillar det här formatet. :D Det är roligt att titta på och en bra variation mot de vanliga layouterna, men den var svår att göra! Det var svårt att få det hela att hänga ihop. Kanske jag ska pröva med en annan historia.

My inspiration for a LO comes from different places at different times. Sometimes it's the photos, sometimes a story I want to tell and sometimes it's actually a product that inspires- like a page protector!
Divided page protectors has become fashion in the scrapbooking community, and now I wanted to give it a try. A lot of people use protectors for baseballcards, but I didn't think I had the time to wait for the arrival of an order, so I just sewed on an ordinary A4-protector instead. That was very easy btw, and also gives you endless possibilities in how to divide the page protector.

The pictures above shows my first own attempts to make a divided LO. As it is such an odd format I filled the backs too, so I got a double LO just that it is "back to back". Hm. If I do more of those kind of layouts I can put them in the albums in a neater way!

The photos are miscellaneous snapshots from summer 2009. Not the complete picture, but still an overwiew.

I'm still not sure if I like this format! :D I like to look at this kind of layouts and it's a fun variation to the usual format, but it was kind of tricky to make it. It was hard to make it coherent. Maybe I shall try with another kind of story.

Växande

En layout som har väntat på text ett tag, vilket visade sig vara bra! Kortet är taget i augusti 2009, i ett fodermajsfält på svärfars systers gård. Vi sprang omkring mellan raderna där en stund, i "en perfekt djungel!" enligt Isak, och jag passade på att ta kort förstås. Jag har faktiskt använt min telefon till det här fotot, det är så roligt att ha en riktigt bra kompaktkamera med sig, alltid.

Under hösten som följde växte Edvin mycket och livet förändrades för honom. Det var inte bara enkelt! Själv sa han att det var jobbigt att ändras från ett litet barn till ett stort. Texten handlar om det, och om att jag hoppas kunna vara ett stöd för honom när han växer, och hur skönt det är att vi båda får vila i Guds hand.

Julafton

Vanlig bruksscrapping, och inte ens särskilt intressant text! :D Ibland vill man bara fylla ut luckor i berättelsen...

Jag har just satt in alla mina layouter, som jag någonsin gjort, i mina nya album. De är sorterade efter innehåll, och bara grovt i tidsordning. Plötsligt har jag fått syn på nya saker i den historia som jag berättar med allt jag gör, och också vilka saker som inte finns där, sånt som jag skulle vilja berätta om. Just julaftnar är kanske inte så viktiga egentligen, men det är roligt när man kan lägga många jular efter varandra i en lång rad och se hur tiden har gått, och hur livet (och frisyrerna) förändras.

Very simple scrapbooking, indeed. I just wanted to fill up one of the gaps I've found in my scrapbook-story.

I just recently put all my layouts, that i have ever made, in my LOM-albums, and that helped me see new patterns in my story. Both what I do tell and what I don't. Christmasses might not be that important on their own, but I like the fact that you can put many of them in a long row and see how time has passed and life (and hair-dos) has changed.

One little word Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog! I'm so glad you're here, and that we can share our One little word-journeys with each other.

New years resolutions is nothing for me, it´s too much "made up" and it feels like a pressure and something I have to live up to, rather than a helpful tool. But this year I really wolud like to get my acts together as I'm about to leave the SAHM-phase of my life and find a new direction. So I need- a helpful tool.

I stumbled upon a class and a concept, at my trusted scrapbook class site Big Picture Classes. This was Ali Edwards idea of choosing a word as a kind of headline for a whole year, and use it to explore life and your own beeing. This was what I needed!

When I read about the class I started to think about which word I could choose. I thought it wouldn't be any use of signing up for the class if I didn't have a word to start with. But the word popped up almost immediately: I want to know my PATH. I'm looking for my own path through life.




The word that found me is in English. I'm not! But i decided to stick to the English word and to use the translations to Swedish too. I like to see the differences between the words and to use them to further explore my word and it's meanings. Some things are lost in translation, but some are gained!

The Swedish word for PATH is STIG which means more like foot-path or trail, a much smaller track than I would like to see before me through life, haha, but still quite an intriguing thought to ponder. Another swedish word that I could use is VÄG, but that is a very "broad" word that can mean anything from lane to street- or the road itself.

Now I have lived with this word for a month, and so far it has ment that I have reduced my involvement in my church, I have taken a one day class in writing (which is what I really want to do) and I have taken up reading the Bible again after several years (!). The last one is the hardest actually, it's hard to commit to doing something every day, and it's also the most surprising to me. I'm curious to see where it will lead me. On which path?

The first assignment in the Ali Edwards class was to invite and define our word of choise. This is what my invitation page looks like:



The translations of the cards from top left: synonyms to the word VÄG (way), old encyclopedia definition of VÄG, translations of PATH to swedish, reasons why I choose this word, synonyms to PATH, two quotes: "those who get lost find new paths", "the way become (?) as you walk", the word PATH, two scriptures: act 17:28 and john 14:6, my invitation to clarity, strength, enthusiasm and movement.

I have never done this kind of divided layout before, but i really like the style! I have alreadey started another layout of the same kind, with pictures and small snippets from the summer of 2009. I will show it later. :)

And today it's time for the second assignment from the class! I can't wait!

Ett samband

Mina två stora barn som bråkar varje dag, men faktiskt leker ännu mer än de bråkar. Och det bästa de kom på om varandra var att den andre är bra på att leka. Det är ju tur i alla fall...

My two eldest who fights every day, but play together even more than they fight. The best thing they could say about each other was that the other one is good at playing. =)

I choose my pictures because of the similarities, not the opposites between my two youngest children. At the pictures, they are both 3 years old. The both like to cuddle, they learned to talk in the same fashion, and like their older brother they like to talk... a lot. So the air at our house is filled with good ideas. Allways!
